Dorm Packing List

Soon you’ll be packing your bags and moving into our dorms! In all the excitement, it’s easy to forget some college life essentials. Here’s a quick list of the main items that incoming students should consider when packing for move in.

Both our dorms include the following amenities: Twin XL size bed, desk, microwave and fridge.

  • Comforter
  • Pillow
  • Bed linens (Twin XL)
  • Bath Towels
  • Personal Care products such as Shampoo/Toothbrush/Shower Shoes
  • Clothes hangers
  • Coffee mug
  • Poster putty for hanging up decorations
  • Plastic containers with tight lids for storing snacks, detergent, etc.
  • Headphones/ear buds (so your music doesn’t bother your roommate or neighbors)
  • Chargers
  • Power strip approved by the housing office
  • Desk lamp or bed lamp
  • TV/DVD-Player
  • Fans
  • Hair Appliances
  • Crates or stacking containers
  • Sewing kit, scissors, safety pins
  • Ul Listed surge protector
  • Desk lamp
  • Alarm Clock
  • Extension cords
  • Cooking and eating supplies such as plates, cuts and utensils.
  • Message board for your door so neighbors and friends can leave messages if you’re not in your room

DO NOT BRING:

  • Pets
  • Candles or Incense
  • Open coil heating or cooking devices, such as toasters
  • Guns or fireworks
  • Large amounts of cash
  • Extension cords or multi-plug adapters without surge protectors

Refrigerators:

  • Willow Residence- suite comes with microwave and full fridge
  • Chestnut Residence- each room comes with a mini-fridge

Pantry:

  • Willow Residence- food pantry space is located in the shared suite area
  • Chestnut Residence- pantry space is available in each individual room depending on your furniture.

Sharing with your roommate is strictly up to you and your roommate, we advise that you make arrangements clear to aid in communication and keep expectations aligned.

Items to coordinate with your roommate:

Cleaning supplies, such as broom or vacuum cleaner.

Room Décor, such as an area rug or any additional furniture.

Laundry Supplies, such as an ironing board.
