What is Canvas?

Canvas is the Learning Management System (LMS) used at NAU to provide students and faculty with an intuitive platform for course delivery, communication, and academic support.

Students

  • Download the Canvas Student App for on-the-go access.

Faculty

  • Manage courses, communicate with students, and track progress.
  • Use tools for grading, quizzes, and discussion forums.
  • Explore training resources for maximizing Canvas’s potential.

How to Access NAU Canvas through Microsoft 365

  • Go to Microsoft 365 and log in using your NAU credentials (your NAU email and password).

  • Once logged in, locate the Canvas icon in the list of available applications.
  • If you don’t see the Canvas icon immediately, click on “All Apps” to view the full list of applications.

  • Click on the Canvas icon to be directed to the NAU Canvas portal.

  • You will be automatically logged in to Canvas and can begin accessing your courses, assignments, and other resources.
