Shweta Shroff Receives 2025 TWU SLIS Ann Barnett Service Award

Shweta Shroff, the Library Director at North American University, has been honored with a distinguished recognition, the Ann Barnett Service Award, on April 3, 2025, by her alma mater, TWU School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS). This exceptional honor reflects her dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence in service, and this has motivated Ms. Shroff further to remain committed to advancing her work in librarianship and continue to strive for excellence in her endeavors.
The TWU SLIS honors one of its alumni with the “Ann Barnett Service Award.” This $1,000 award recognizes exemplary service to the principles and purposes of librarianship and professional education as demonstrated by sensitivity and responsiveness to people’s needs.

Ms Shroff Also Attends TLA 2025 Conference
Shweta Shroff, Library Director at North American University, represented NAU at the Texas Library Association (TLA) 2025 Annual Conference, held April 1–4 in Dallas, TX. Centered around the theme Library Renaissance: Our Quest for Renewal, the event gathered over 3,000 library professionals, 220+ authors, 200+ educational sessions, and 220+ exhibitors for a dynamic professional experience.
Ms. Shroff attended with the goal of expanding her professional perspective, networking with peers, and staying current with emerging trends and technologies in librarianship. She also volunteered in the Authors Area, supporting the TLA 2025 Planning Committee.
Reflecting on the event, Ms. Shroff described it as a transformative experience that renewed her confidence and equipped her to take on new professional challenges.
